Good morning all!
I thought it time to check in since I've been back for some weeks and haven't exactly updated properly.
The awesome theme of 2010 is continuing unabated and despite some minor hiccups ($430 water bill??? WTF??? yeah, damn RIGHT you misread the meter!) everything has been tolerable, mendable or recoverable.
At the present moment I'm still dealing cards as my main source of income, but also making further plans for my freelancing work. I'm eyeing off equipment I can still buy in the last remaining weeks of this financial year so the word 'photographer' can still be on my tax return and thus count these purchases off. Clever, no?
Mental-health activity-wise I'm working with Maz and co to assist his first feature film The Turned come together. See the site for more deets. Also am auditioning for a musical done by my old theatre company to try and get back into performing again. In the same vein, last night at the Rhino Room I was invited to join a comedy workshop by Brian Pritchard, also involved in The Turned. I would be joining it late but hopefully I can be a part.
Lets see, what else? Oh! Sunday I'll be hanging around the showgrounds being an extra for another film project The Thing About Dolphins about which I don't really know many details so I guess stay tuned for further info about that. After this 8-9hour day I'll be helping on set for The Turned again so it's going to be a full day of film for me. Which is good, film and theatre are the two avenues I'd like to stroll down again, I do miss performing/creating. I'm slooooowly getting my Project Room in order, with my various cameras/lights/computers, not to mention my few crafty projects on the drawing board - keep an eye out for my 8bit wall art... esp the space invader. oooooh exciting!
My laptop is helping me get my inspiration down as it happens - which has always been an issue for me, I'd think of something to write or music to get down and by the time I'd get to my desk I'd have lost the thought or worse yet the motivation. The desktop I bought from Maz is definately an asset but even from the getgo I'd been interested in purchasing his laptop first. My music especially is seeing the greatest benefit from this.
So anyway, apologies for the boring update with little to no humourous witticisms or sarcastic biting social observations. I'll have to owe you all one.
Til then, peace, love and light my brothers and sisters. Hope you're all rocking out with your collective roosters out and the world's turning as awesomely for you as it is me.
May the forces of evil become confused on the way to your house... to quote Carlin. Catcha.
